Reproductive Justice, Politics of Poverty & Gen Z Social Activism with Deja Foxx
In this episode, Hannah is joined by Deja Foxx, who is a 21 year old reproductive rights activist, political strategist and blogger, as well as the youngest staffer on US Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign. Deja and Hannah discuss the current state of reproductive justice in the United States, how the overturning of Roe v Wade will disproportionately affect people of colour and poor people, and what the recent changes in law actually mean for people who need abortions in the US today. Deja shares insights into why abortions will still be available to people today because of the development in science since the 1970s. Deja also talks about facing discomfort in your activism and the importance of receiving proper safety and impact training. Finally, Hannah and Deja discuss the Gen Z Girl Gang community and what Deja plans to do when she becomes President of the United States.
